Matcha green tea powder is very different from the classic green tea due to the special treatment of tea leafs while they are grown and specific processing method afterward. Before plucking the tea leaves are 75%-95% shade covered up to 4 weeks, to slow growth and thus produce a greater amount of amino acids (L-Theanine) which gives the leaves natural sweetness. To make fine powder dried leaves are de-stemmed and ground on granite stone wheels.

Brewing tips:  Take 1/2 teaspoon or 1 perfect Matcha spoon per 100ml, boil water and let it cool down for 4 minutes to 60-70°C, whisk until nice and even foam appears on the surface.

For Matcha Latte take twice as much Matcha, depending on your mug, whisk it with approx. 70 ml water and add 200 ml frothed milk.
